Saturday June 9 Lunch: TOM WOODSTom Woods

Thomas E. Woods, Jr., is a senior fellow of the Ludwig von Mises Institute. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Harvard and his master’s, M.Phil., and Ph.D. from Columbia University. He is the author of eleven books, most recently Rollback: Repealing Big Government Before the Coming Fiscal Collapse and Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century

Saturday June 9 Dinner: WES BENEDICT

Wes Benedict served from July 17, 2009 to December 31, 2011 as Executive Director of the Libertarian National Committee in the Libertarian Party's headquarters in Washington, DC. He previously served as Executive Director of the Libertarian Party of Texas. There he broke records and made Texas one of the best performing state Libertarian Party chapters. He recruited a record 173 LP candidates for office in Texas for the November 2008 elections, which was 29 percent of the nationwide LP total. Mr. Benedict holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Texas.

Sunday June 10 Lunch: Gary Johnson, Libertarian Candidate for President

Gaining more than 70% of the vote on the first ballot, former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson Saturday earned the Libertarian Party nomination for President of the United States. As the Libertarian nominee, Johnson is expected to be on the ballot in all 50 states.

Accepting the nomination, Johnson said, “Millions of Americans want and deserve the opportunity to vote for a candidate in November who will get us out of the war in Afghanistan immediately, truly cut federal spending, end the failed war on drugs, repeal the Patriot Act, and support marriage equality. I am excited to offer that option: A proven fiscal conservative, a proven defender of civil liberties, and an advocate for social tolerance.”

Other speakers include:

Dr. Mary Ruwart

Mary J. Ruwart, Ph.D. is a former pharmaceutical research scientist and Assistant Professor of Surgery. She has worked extensively with the disadvantaged in low-income housing and was a contender for the 1992 Libertarian Party Vice-Presidential nomination. Dr. Ruwart is the author of HEALING OUR WORLD: THE OTHER PIECE OF THE PUZZLE, hailed by Visions Magazine as "what may be the most important book of the decade." HEALING applies win-win strategies to
the political realm, "bridging the gap between conservatives and liberals, Christians and New Agers, special interests and the common good with practical solutions to our economic, environmental, and societal woes" (Ron Paul).

Stefan Molyneux

"Stefan Molyneux may be perhaps the most eloquent "red pill" in the alternative media. A self-described philosopher, Molyneux has a strong knowledge of history and a core compass reading of freedom and non-violence.  He hosts a popular radio broadcast on his FreedomainRadio; his Youtube uploads have been viewed over 6 million times on his channel alone, and his site claims over 25 million downloads making his ideas the "largest and most popular philosophical conversation in the world."

Tim Slagle

"Tim Slagle is a political satirist with a penchant for the controversial and has spent twenty-five years touring the biker bars, bowling alleys, and Holiday Inn lounges of America; making a living telling jokes to the proletariat."

"Actually, the only dogmas that Tim clings to, are the inalienable rights outlined in the first ten Amendments to the Constitution, otherwise known as the Bill of Rights. (Especially the right of Free Speech.) Fascist governments have never acknowledged the existence of these rights"

Sean Dunagan

From 1998 to 2011, Sean Dunagan served as an intelligence research specialist for the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. Over the course of his career within the DEA, he participated in dozens of federal drug investigations during tours of duty in Florida and Pennsylvania as well as internationally in Mexico and Guatemala.  It was during his time in Guatemala that he truly started to understand the grave effects of prohibition.

Sean says. "Going through forensic photos from the case, it stuck with me that the violence which prohibition causes is real. Just as with alcohol prohibition, drug prohibition artificially inflates profit margins for the banned substance and simultaneously removes any legal and peaceful means of dispute resolution."

More details to follow. There will be breakout sessions on many topics of interest to lovers of liberty. Lots of opportunity to socialize and enjoy a great weekend.

Updates will be posted here as they become available.
