Nationwide Libertarian leaders come to Austin
The Feb 26-28 LSLA conference in Austin was a great success. A fun time was had by all.
On Friday evening visitors had an opportunity to experience the Austin nightlife. Thanks to the Ladies of Liberty Alliance for help with the planning of these activities.
Saturday was filled with helpful training sessions for leaders and candidates. I kicked off the evening festivities (at podium) as Dallas County chair Paul Peterson (right) and LP Executive Director Wes Benedict (center) dig into their BBQ:
Next Dr Jim Lark presented an award to Longhorn Libertarians leader Norman Horn:
Following the award ceremony was a very entertaining debate of candidates for Libertarian Party national chair. In the photo below, party founder David Nolan watches as Geoff Neale (at the podium) moderates. Candidates for the position are (left to right) Wayne Allyn Root, John Jay Myers, Mark Hinkle, Ernest Hancock, and George Phillies:
On Sunday the Libertarian Party national committee met:
During the meeting we witnessed an embrace between Roger Gary and Aaron Starr. Then the clouds parted and hords of locusts descended:
The weekend closed with a meeting of the state committee of the Libertarian Party of Texas. I had a great time, but needed extended sleep to recover. We certainly showed that Libertarians in Texas kick butt!
